Alta published this photo on their website of their snowfall earlier this week. If it does rain on Oct 5 and turns to snow and it looks this pretty, I won’t complain at all.

Weddings in the family
So this weekend J ‘s sister is getting married, thats the reason we are leaving so early for UT. They are getting married up Ogden canyon on a little cattle ranch – It should be really fun to see the cattle. They have a country western theme, complete with a blue grass band and everything. We will also go to their rehersal dinner and a potluck beforehand. Sounds like I have some delicious eating ahead.
Leaving on a Delta Plane
Okay,so technically we are flying American Airlines, it just didn’t sound cool as a title. So we are leaving in 16 hours for UT. I can’t believe it, its been so stressful lately turning stuff in for school and I am really excited to not think about it for a while. I’ll deal with the consequences when I get back.
Its been a busy couple of days and its going to be super busy the next couple of hours! I got my dress back yesterday and it fits beautifully, thanks to all that extra weight I gained. Oh well!
This week, I also dealt with the case of the missing cake lady and got another one to do my cake instead. Also, I decided I didn’t like the flowers my mom wanted, so I’ll be making my own bouquet! We also finally have all our food finalized and it place and we hired the people I originally wanted. J and I also finally managed to find a tie for him that will look good with his suit! ( He looks hoooooottttt! )
I am so excited, hence the crazy rambling of superflous details.
Holy Sh@#$$%
I am getting married in 31 days!!! In one month! I can’t believe it. I am leaving for UT in even lesser time than that. So crazy!!!! I just had to post about this.
Things have been pretty uneventful around here lately. Had a mellow and relaxing labor day weekend. Saw some movies, went bowling, hung around and relaxed around the house. Good stuff!
….And the craziness starts.
Get Fit

Yesterday I ran so hard , I nearly puked. But it felt so good! I have been obsessing over my weight for a little while now, but yesterday it hit me that the reason I really want to work out is so that I can be strong. I was joking with J about who can run faster and he said he would win a 100 meter dash but I would probably kick his butt in endurance. And I realized, I really want to kick his butt in endurance! So now I’m determined to be in shape before he is!
Shallow you say? I agree, but its motivating. I think people who are competitive like me need a more relative goal than” I want to look good” I need a goal that says ” I want to do xyz….better than someone.”
Wonder what that means for my marriage.

End of the week blues
I bought my textbooks today and spent $600 on 6 classes. Thats just insane, its ridiculous , its a rip off! I hate how expensive books have become especially the whole new edition coming out every year is bull shit!!!! I think Professors need to take a stand and insist on using older editions. I do have a cool prof like that and she says she doesn’t care if we use older editions, or international editions to save money, but the others should really insist that their students not get into debt just to buy books…..grrrrrr
In more happy news, it is friday so yaaaaaaay!!! I plan on having a nice relaxing weekend, sending out my invites and mabye going to Falls lake and taking some photos. This lake is literally 20 mins from my house but J and I have never been!Gasp! Its just that its in a direction we normally don’t go !!!
Goal of the weekend: Must get into Weddingy groove again
Back to School
Today is the first day of fall semester of my senior year. Its so exciting and nerve wracking all at once that I thought I’d do a quick post. Its going to be crazy for the next couple of months- I have 18 credit hours of which 4 are pretty hard business classes and I do have two fluff classes. The cool thing is that after this I will only have business class left and next semester I get to take mostly electives and a few remaining gen eds. However, working 2o hours, and wedding planning and actually pulling off the wedding is going to take quite a toll on me.
Here is my schedule for the next couple of months:
Monday: 8-10am work, 11-5 classes
Tuesday: 9:30-11classes, 11:30- 5:30 work
Wed 8-10 am work, 11-8:30pm classes
Thu -same as tue
Fri- 8-10 am work, 11-1pm school, 1:30- 3:30 work
Classes I have this semester are
MacroEconomics
Marketing Research
International Business
Corporate Finance
Music Appreciation
Religion and Film
On a less exciting and somber note, both J and my cars are having problems. Mine has a problem with the starter and J’s problem seems to be something more major. I hate having car problems and my car is old about 10yrs, but I really don’t want to get another car till I graduate, so I’m gonna have to just chug along on this one. Hope things look up for us soon.
And I’m off to school.

Back From Vacation
I’m sore and a little burnt but really happy. J and I had the most fantastic 4 day vacation and now we are back to the daily grind. The wedding looms ever closer and its back to wedding planning as well! My mom was a little upset with me that I didn’t do much planning this weekend, but honestly, it was a welcome respite to not think about the wedding this weekend at all!
Here’s a quick summary of the weekend. I’ll post pics and furthes details, once I’ve had a chance to upload them. Friday, we drove to Richmond and spent the afternoon in the pool. Saturday, J and I spent the day in D.C. Sunday we went to Jamestown and we finished off the trip with a visit to Kings Dominion( A Theme park ) yesterday.
Being at Kings Dominion yesterday, made me realize how much we change. There was a time in my life, when I was a kid, where I was completely fearless, I would pretty much plunge into anything. Then there were the years, where I like the more “themed” rides at the parks like Jurassic 5 , Indiana Jones, etc. They seemed less scary and I didn’t like the feeling of free falling at all. Yesterday, I had a great time doing the extra thrilling rides. I even did the straight vertical tower drop, which I normall don’t do because I think it looks lame, but it ended up being really fun. I love how the thrill/breathlessness lasts almost till you are convinced that you just absolutely can’t take it anymore, that you might die and then when it stops, there’s a feeling of sadness that the drop is over.
Just like the end of a vacation.
Michael Jackson and Memories
I came across this video on youtube yesterday, while researching for weddings. This made me laugh. J would never agree to something like this. But this made me laugh, and I have that blasted MJ song stuck in my head
Anyway, watching this video brought up memories of my childhood and how all my cousins and me included thought MJ was the coolest ever. This is a rather grim story, but when I was about 8 or 9 , one of my great uncles passed away. Since we were too young, we were given a room to ourselves while the funeral was being held. Since we were young and bored and didn’t really understand what was going on, we played some MJ tunes and danced around. Thinking about it now makes me feel bad that we were so disrespectful but I didnt’ know any better then.
Also, I think I just have a fascination with Michael Jackson, and I know most people my age do too. I know watching Brittney go wacko is what is captivating the nation at the moment, but somehow she still doesn’t have the same morbid curiouosity as MJ does for me.
Birthday
So , the birthday came and went. It was a mellow day and relaxing day. On saturday, My parents took me and J out to this really fancy Brazilian Steak house. I have been to various Rodizios before , but this one was just amazing. We went all out on the dinner, We ordered Wine and Chocolate Mousse cake. Also the buffet has amazing dishes like Smoked Salmon , Salmon in passsion fruit sauce, eggplant parmesan and lots of really exotic cheeses and olives. Of course the main event was the meat, I think I had the best top sirloin and filet mignoin of my life. I ate so much that it was almost impossible to walk out of the restaurant.
Sunday, I woke up and opened my presents, I got some clothes from my parents ( which I desperately needed) I got a dress, dress pants, some nice dressy shirts for work, new shoes and a bracelet. J got me a Scrapbooking book that has ideas for different styles of design like Victorian, Retro Modern, Contemporary etc. He also got me a gift card to B&N and a trip to DC. Yippee. In the morning, we took the dogs and went to Eno River state park to have a birthday picnic , hike and wade in the eno with the dogs. It was a perfect activity for a hot summer day. Our picnic too was delicious with fresh Jalapeno Bread, Spinach and Feta Croissants, chilled green tea and my favorite coconut macaroons.
Here is a pic of the Eno:
When we got back from the Eno, my mom started cooking a huge birthday meal for me. She made a Goat/mutton dish, a coconut fish curry, Pulao and I made some kabobs. We ate everything with some delicious naan and red wine.
(My computer is being weird and I can only post thumbnails)
I also made my watermelon cocktails, which were delicous.
Watermelon Cocktail
Blend seedless watermelon cubes with lime, vodka and a little bit of salt, for a delicious sweet and tangy cocktail. Also, its pretty healthy, because it doesn’t have added sugars.
