Costume Ideas

I’m bummed out, none of my costume ideas worked out, so I’m going to be a glam devil. Its not a bad costume, but not terribly original. Will post pic, when I have some.

J is going as Dick Cheney and carrying a W puppet! Clever no? but the idea was mine! Who’s whose puppet now? Mwahahahahahahahah!!!!

K’ that didn’t even make sense 😦

In other news, I have been officially accepted at Meredith. I now need to go meet w/ an advisor about schedule, credits needed, etc and put down a $100 to begin registration. From the acceptance letter it states that the Financial Aid office has started working on my application as well and I should be hearing from them soon. Getting really nervous and excited all at the same time.

Friday night, J and I had a fight. Fight is a wrong word, because it wasn’t provoked and we weren’t really argueing about anything personal, just a hypothetical situtation about an article on the internet. He was an ass and decided to make it personal! But once again, I don’t want to call it a fight, because before i could call him out on it, he realized his assholishness(atleast it looked like he did) and then apologised profusely all night. Anyway, the damage was done, I was incredibly hurt and angry and J was drunk, so we went to bed very upset. We patched up in the morning and cleaned our apt top to bottom.

Now this is interesting because I have talked about this before, i.e our apt as a metaphor for a relationship. Whenever J’s been an ass,or we’ve had some pretty serious relationship arguements, we always clean the apt together once we’ve patched up. Its an unspoken act of working on “fixing up” our surroundings, and the space we share and an act of renewed commitment perhaps. Call me naive and overly romantic,but there is something so sweet about this ritual!

Although we did have this conversation-

GG: You should be a dick and say mean things when you are drunk more often
J: Why? so I’ll feel bad and clean
GG: Yeah, and then I’ll feel bad and join in too.
J: Done, from now on, whenever the apt is getting messy, we’ll have a nice fight!

Moral of the story: Fighting leads to a clean apt and good make up sex.

Exicted for Halloween!!!! I still need to find a costume and get my lazy ass to the gym this week. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr……………….

In good news, Camera is back and is now once again a loving member of family. We have resumed using it for taking useless pics, such as me swallowing a big spoonful of noodles.

Might go to 80’s night tonight at the CC.

I do have the best J. He sends me msn messenger kisses, when misogynistic websites bog me down.

So I have been bad lately and not really done ANTM posts. Since NG and I have started watching them together, the snark gets spent between us and I feel like I have no material left to contribute to the blog.

Money Money Money Money……

Gaaaaaaaaah! I haven’t updated this thing in ages. Its so hard to remember long lucid thoughts that i have during lulls at work or on the way home and then come back and blog about something interesting. Grrr….

Anyway, things seem to be going really well! Things for school are on track and I’m optimistic that things will work out accordingly. I am still a little nervous about housing and job, but there’s really nothing I can do about it now, so I’ve decided to chill.

Things are good with the fam, J, friends and just social life in general. The only thing thats not okay are finances. But in a weird way, when thats the only non stellar thing in life,it really does make the phrase “money doesn’t buy happiness” seem true. I mean we have a long period of financial burdens ahead and we are already feeling some of the effects now, but I think overall I’m really happy with life.

Halloween and our cruise to the Bahamas are right around the corner. I have yet to zero in on a costume but J is leaning towards something that mocks the current administration. I think I’ll only commit, once I’ve been to the fabric store and goodwill and see whats available.

I’ve been majorly into Eliott Smith lately, Its too bad that he had to commit suicide before I discovered his music , so I’ll never get a chance to see him live. We were in a silly mood last night, so J and I downloaded some Neil Diamond and I shrieked “Sweet Caroline” at the top of my lungs. Have also been into Willie Nelson majorly. Weird, I know.

FAFSA

So, my fafsa came back yesterday afternoon. Must be a slow time for dept of education,cuz I only filed it on saturday, and they said it would take atleast 3 biz days. Thoughts are completely consumed with school and getting stuff done for it and figuring out financial situtation once school starts. Seein my EPC made me ridiculously happy to be poor.

So expect more boring posts ahead.

Top 10 Cuisines I loooooooooove

So JJ and I have decided to do Top 10 foods we love. Why you ask, because its friday and we are hungry and not much is happening at work. Anyway, get ready to salivate

1) Indian: Okay, so its not hard to guess that my fave is Indian, I love all dishes indian, northern, southern, bengali, gujrati , whatever. My fave dishes though would have to be : Tandoori Chicken, Palak Paneer, Garlic Naan, Biriyani and my grandma’s Lamb in dry curry.
Best restaurant- Sitar India, Bombay house and any restaurant in artesia LA

2) Thai: I love the spicy coconut curries of thai, fave dishes are: Green curry chicken, Tom Kha soup, Divine Rice from Me Kong Cafe in SLC,
Fave restaurants: Taste of THai, MeKong Cafe

3) Mexican: Mexican is cheap and super tasty for eating out. I love getting the combo plates with cheese enchiladas, beans and rice. I also love Taco Truck Tacos
Fave Restaurants: El Torreros, Cafe Rio, Taco Truck, Baja Burrito. I also like the Station in logan and their chicken in spicy cream sauce

4) Sushi: Oh I could wax the poetic about Sushi, I love it sooo much! But my tastes in Sushi often tends to run towards the more pedestrian, cuz I often like the more common rolls than the gourmet rolls. Faves are Spicy Tuna, Philly roll, yellow tail and anything with salmon.I also like the fried rolls every once in a while.
Fave Restaurants: Kanki’s, Mikado,

5) Malaysian: I have only had this a couple of times, but i loved it. Its like the love child of Indian and Thai. I love Roti Parata with chicken curry and red curry soup with noodles.
Fave restaurants: I have only had Malaysian a couple of time, so i don’t think i have a fave yet

6) Middle Eastern/Greek:yummmmm….falafel and hummus. my life would be incomplete without them.
Fave restaurant:International Delights, Babaghanouj

7) Chinese: I like regular chinese fine, but what I really love is Indian style chinese, which is available in very few places in the US. My faves are: Chicken Fried Rice, Chow mein, and Chilli Chicken
Fave Restaurant: Fredricks in Toronto, Shanghai , Japan express( it is basically chinese takeout),they have this sweet and spicy white sauce thats just incredible.

8) Fast Food: I know its not cool to like Fast food, but when a taco bell or Micky D’s craving hits me, nothing else can satisfy. MMMMM…cheese fries.
Fave Restaurant: McDonalds, Training Table, Taco Bell, Wendys

9) Southern/Country Style/Home Cooking:I guess it must have been moving to the south that did this for me, but i don’t know how i made it without Biscuits, Hush puppies, country gravy and fried fish. Bring on the cholestrol.
Fave Restaurants: Bennetts, Wimpy’s , Cracker Barrell, The Q Shack

10)Breakfast: I know this is n’t really a cuisine, but I love 99% of breakfast foods. Faves would have to be veggie ommlettes, breakfast burritos, pancakes, oh man, i could go on and on.

Girlie Girl: Hey, so my dad got a new burberry and he got it for free

J: Burberry?

Gg: You know, those PDA/phone thingies

J: Oh you mean Blueberry

Gg:Oh duh! I guess thats what they are called

J: Yeah, isn’t burberry some Saks fashion thingy

G: yeah, I do like some of their stuff though.

J: Eh

GG: Isn’t it cool though, I’d like a free burberry

J: God babe get it right its blue berry

GG: Shit! yeah that….

Later that afternoon, text msg from GG to J ” Its not a blue berry, its a blackberry Ha!”

I wish this story was made up, but its not! I really didn’t know, i was this clueless
Then again, I also set off the smoke alarm in the kitchen , took it off and now can’t figure out how to screw it back in! Sigh!

Exercise, Family, Life

5K

So I think I ‘ll run a 5K on the 20th, it will give my running more direction and if I’m actively training for something, I’ll feel less like, oh I should have worked out more. Also runners world has these great running/training guides for various distances, and I love that they have little charts and time courses.

Not too much new in other areas of life, J and I are stressed about money and we are bickering, but nothing major! I wish I could do something but its frustrating to wait.

So the fam is moving to the Bay area instead of Minneapolis. I guess thats a good thing, cuz this fits better with J and my plans of moving out west again eventually,although he all anti california and I’m LA girl. Oh well, that bridge is a long time away and can be crossed when we get there!
