Crash
Watched Crash last night. It was a movie, I had been meaning to watch for a long time, and I loved it. It was intense right from the beginning and I thought the script was really tight! I am a sucker for Multiple narratives,but even so, all the stories were brilliantly handled.
Was interesting to see Sandra Bullock in a “non emotionally stunted, unlucky in love, cutesy gal” role. Also loved the Locksmith and Iranian guy storyline.
Led to long conversation between me and J about race and it used to be a very touchy subject between us, but I can see how we are working through our attitudes.
Major breakthrough: J saying how bad he wants to learn Bengali. And that he doesn’t want to be left out, when we have a kid and the kid knows bengali. Cute no?
World Beer Festival
I had a blast! Till saturday, I had no idea, about how much beer I could actually consume and still stumble home through the mud, w/out getting any mud above my ankle. Thats some special walking I tell you!
I also got a Terrapin Temporary tattoo, tried Skoal chew (1st time) and got asked to flash for beads, I did not comply with the request.

Summary
Life Plods on! I have had a ton of things I’ve wanted to post lately, but they are going to have to be broken into smaller posts, otherwise, it will be one ginormous post!
Overall, life is good, J scheduled his surgery for the 30th or 28th of next month, so thats one thing planned. The end of the year, stress persists, as in, what am i going to do about school/work/job, but its a good kind of stress, I feel proactive, simply by doing paperwork.

So, they called from the college yesterday to tell me that I can be eligible for Financial Aid in the spring!!!! Yaaaay!!!! Except for the fact that I need to get my transcripts and that is taking up more time and energy than required.
J is a little nervous about impending changes, and there will be quite a few! Infact, I am pretty nervous myself.Everything seems up in the air and seems poised to change: job, house, life, etc…..Hopefully it will be for the better.
Other than that, life is going well, J and I are chill, he is going to schedule his surgery in November, but once again, like every other detail in our life, its up in the air.
I have noticed my brushing,no rinsing habits are influenced by my boyfriends. Weird! What is my style? Runaway Bride style question of the day. hmmmmm.

Because I got to spend last night at home all by myself (with laylz) and watch tv and I went to the gym. Go me , go me.
Its funny, after a year of living together, I am genuinely happy for J to leave the apt, so I can do nothing, all by myself. I also do nothing, when he is around, or in another room, but there’s something luxurious about doing nothing all by yourself. Like a mini vacation. I swear mini vacations have been the theme of 90% of my blog entries.
I look skinnier, a tiny little bit, but its something. Especially since the yahoo BMI calculator informed me that I’m dangerously close to being….dun…dun…dun…overweight.AAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!
Must redouble efforts. Kudos to self on working out. A for effort on eating better, well maybe only B.
J finishes his project today. Bring on the partying, hopefully. Am also starting to PMS, must remember to not mix crazy amounts of alcohol with crazy whacked out hormones.
