I am still recovering from last night. I know its almost two in the afternoon and I still feel a little drunk. We hung out on Franklin Street with the usual crew and hit up some bars and a party. Overall a great halloween 2005, much better than last year.

Highlights

* My Devil Costume, it worked out really well, other than the fact that the material made me look thicker than I am, but it was okay,cuz I got a lot of catcalls and J was all over me in a good way.

* J’s Cheney and W costume got him lot of compliments, although, I was really close to hitting him towards the end when he would not stop putting the damn thing in people’s faces

*Y’s costume was fantastic, I am so impressed by her sewing skills

*Y and my sword/pitchfork fight at the cave, while the whole bar cheered. I won! Yaaay. And right after a guy came up to us and whispered “That was hot”

*Making it to the abandoned party, scoring free beer and seeing RS, M and J bob for apples

*Hanging out in Hell. Tee Hee, couldnt’ resist. RS wandering around and asking people, where hell was? and everyone was so drunk, that the question was taken very seriously.

*Negotiating for a cab, cabbie being nice, being a jackass, being nice again and everyone in the cab apologising.

*J and I coming home together after debauchery and plenty of temptations.

I’m bummed out, none of my costume ideas worked out, so I’m going to be a glam devil. Its not a bad costume, but not terribly original. Will post pic, when I have some.

J is going as Dick Cheney and carrying a W puppet! Clever no? but the idea was mine! Who’s whose puppet now? Mwahahahahahahahah!!!!

In other news, I have been officially accepted at Meredith. I now need to go meet w/ an advisor about schedule, credits needed, etc and put down a $100 to begin registration. From the acceptance letter it states that the Financial Aid office has started working on my application as well and I should be hearing from them soon. Getting really nervous and excited all at the same time.

Exicted for Halloween!!!! I still need to find a costume and get my lazy ass to the gym this week. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr……………….

In good news, Camera is back and is now once again a loving member of family. We have resumed using it for taking useless pics, such as me swallowing a big spoonful of noodles.

Might go to 80’s night tonight at the CC.

I do have the best J. He sends me msn messenger kisses, when misogynistic websites bog me down.

So I have been bad lately and not really done ANTM posts. Since NG and I have started watching them together, the snark gets spent between us and I feel like I have no material left to contribute to the blog.

Gaaaaaaaaah! I haven’t updated this thing in ages. Its so hard to remember long lucid thoughts that i have during lulls at work or on the way home and then come back and blog about something interesting. Grrr….

Anyway, things seem to be going really well! Things for school are on track and I’m optimistic that things will work out accordingly. I am still a little nervous about housing and job, but there’s really nothing I can do about it now, so I’ve decided to chill.

Things are good with the fam, J, friends and just social life in general. The only thing thats not okay are finances. But in a weird way, when thats the only non stellar thing in life,it really does make the phrase “money doesn’t buy happiness” seem true. I mean we have a long period of financial burdens ahead and we are already feeling some of the effects now, but I think overall I’m really happy with life.

Halloween and our cruise to the Bahamas are right around the corner. I have yet to zero in on a costume but J is leaning towards something that mocks the current administration. I think I’ll only commit, once I’ve been to the fabric store and goodwill and see whats available.

I’ve been majorly into Eliott Smith lately, Its too bad that he had to commit suicide before I discovered his music , so I’ll never get a chance to see him live. We were in a silly mood last night, so J and I downloaded some Neil Diamond and I shrieked “Sweet Caroline” at the top of my lungs. Have also been into Willie Nelson majorly. Weird, I know.

It has been one year,since i’ve kept/unkept this blog. Its become like a room now, with pics, posts, friends addresses, links. Good thing, since living with someone doesn’t let me have “my” room per se.

Rumour is we are going to the state fair on sunday….for free.

So, my fafsa came back yesterday afternoon. Must be a slow time for dept of education,cuz I only filed it on saturday, and they said it would take atleast 3 biz days. Thoughts are completely consumed with school and getting stuff done for it and figuring out financial situtation once school starts. Seein my EPC made me ridiculously happy to be poor.

So expect more boring posts ahead.

Watched Crash last night. It was a movie, I had been meaning to watch for a long time, and I loved it. It was intense right from the beginning and I thought the script was really tight! I am a sucker for Multiple narratives,but even so, all the stories were brilliantly handled.

Was interesting to see Sandra Bullock in a “non emotionally stunted, unlucky in love, cutesy gal” role. Also loved the Locksmith and Iranian guy storyline.

Led to long conversation between me and J about race and it used to be a very touchy subject between us, but I can see how we are working through our attitudes.

Major breakthrough: J saying how bad he wants to learn Bengali. And that he doesn’t want to be left out, when we have a kid and the kid knows bengali. Cute no?
